Sustainability, Eco-Friendly, And Green: Why These Words Should Apply To Your Containers
There are a lot of recycling-related buzzwords flying around these days; sustainability, green, eco-friendly, etc.. As you strive toward designing containers for your products, you may also want to incorporate the characteristics of those words into your containers. Here is why:
Green: Because Customers Want to Know
Are you manufacturing and producing products in the "greenest' way possible? Customers who only want to support green businesses want to know if you are creating containers and packaging that will not harm the environment in any way, shape, or form. Wanting to be part of the movement that improves air quality, water quality, and a reduction of the burden on natural resources can draw more business, not less. If you cannot be totally green, start with your products and their containers. You can order green containers and packaging directly from your packaging source.
Sustainability
Can your factory recycle waste onsite and keep going with no interruptions to business operations? The whole point of sustainability is that a company knows how to use its resources well, and then recycle them onsite, continuing to reuse them until the resources are utterly exhausted through the cycle. If your company can continue to support its own energy needs, and continually recycle, reuse, and renew its own resources, that is something you can use in your advertising, too.
Eco-Friendly
If the price of producing containers and packaging to the standards above is too much, you can still order and use eco-friendly containers and packaging. These are boxes and plastic shipping containers that are made of at least 50% recycled materials, which extracts the other 50% from fresh sources. While you cannot afford to eliminate all of the problems that using these materials often causes, you can reduce the amount of fresh material sources you consume in your packaging.
By reducing what you use and increasing your use of recycled materials, you can become an eco-friendly company. As your profits increase, consider reinvesting the profits in green and sustainability measures to improve your products and company as a whole. Count your containers as the first step forward toward the ultimate goal of complete sustainability, green practices, and continued eco-friendly practices.
The EPA Will Approve
Finally, consider the bonus points you will score with the Environmental Protection Agency. You are already attempting to protect the environment with some of the practices you have put into place. During your next factory inspection, find out what else you can do to make your products, containers, packaging and manufacturing practices even better.
